Adaptogens Libi-dos
"The queens of pleasure - Maca, Shatavari, Ashwagandha."
Adaptogens are plants, mushrooms and herbs that help your body adapt to stress and find balance. They support hormone production, the nervous system and energy production at the cellular level. Small doses, regularly integrated – a powerful tool for your libido.
Maca – the queen of pleasure
Stir 1 teaspoon of maca powder (yellow or red) into your morning shake, cocoa or porridge every day. Pay attention to organic quality and gelatinized processing – it is more digestible and rich in nutrients. A course of 4-8 weeks, then a 1-2 week break.
Maca is a tuber from the Peruvian Andes, traditionally used for fertility, energy and libido. It does not work via phytoestrogens, but rather supports the hypothalamus-pituitary axis - i.e. your hormonal control system. Studies show improvements in libido, energy, mood and stress resilience, especially during perimenopause.
- 1Start with ½ teaspoon, slowly increase to 1 teaspoon daily
- 2Take in the morning – Maca can have a stimulating effect
- 3Stir into warm (not hot) liquid
- 4Combine with cocoa (Libi-do #40) - they reinforce each other
- 5After 4-8 weeks, pause for 1-2 weeks, then start again
Maca usually only shows effects after 2-4 weeks. Patience pays off. If you have thyroid problems, consult your doctor beforehand.
