Strengthen digestion

What you do

Recipe: 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, 1 teaspoon each of fennel seeds and ½ teaspoon of cardamom seeds in ~500 ml of water. Bring water to the boil and let it steep for 5 minutes. Drink warm in winter, lukewarm in summer (never ice cold). Optional: squeeze half a lemon and add it. Drink in small sips throughout the day or approx. 20-30 minutes before meals - do not down it in one gulp. This works best on Agni.

Why it works

Warm spiced water activates the digestive fire Agni, stimulates peristalsis and prepares the body for nutrient absorption. Fennel and cardamom reduce bloating and tension in the stomach - the center of your body awareness and sensuality. A calm stomach is a sensual body.
